My name is Michael D. Moore, founder of MDM Media Productions. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from Campbell University with substantive graduate-level coursework at North Carolina State University. I served in the United States Army Reserve in Civil Affairs, was commissioned as a Signal Officer in 1998, and worked in the Basic Combat Training Environment for eight years. From 1998 until the present day, I have worked as a technical writer and editor for over 25 years.

My passion has always been empowering writers to create great stories that people want to read. I can coach you through the creation of your manuscript, help you with developmental editing, provide line editing, copy editing, and proofreading services for your novel. I specialize in fantasy/science fiction, horror, historical fiction, and literary fiction.

I will provide rewrite suggestions and advice to empower your writing and make it draw a reader to the story you are telling and keep your reader's attention until the final word.

I know writers because I am one. The most common theme I hear from writers when they submit their manuscripts to other editing services is that the editor trashed their work. I will help you improve your work, but I will always treat you with the respect you deserve. No matter how much I mark up your manuscript, I respect the work you put into getting your story into a manuscript. I will suggest you improve something in your story, but I will never handle you with anything less than the dignity you, as a creator, deserve. I have a lot of varying experience as a writer, an editor, and as a trainer, and I know how to be instructive and constructive without being destructive. You can trust me with your manuscript and the heart and soul you pour into it.

I have been an editor since 1993 and have worked in a number of different industries. My writings include technical manuals, white papers, gardening articles, poetry, and more. I was a technical writer and editor until 2017 when I changed careers and became a chaplain through the grace of God. I continue to write and edit in many genres. 

Reading is one of my great passions. At any given time I am in the process of reading 3-5 books of different genres. Stories take us to a world where our imaginations can thrive, which is an important part of mental and emotional balance. 

I will edit your story to help you develop your ideas, formulate your plot, and strategize your pacing during book coaching and developmental phases. Then, when your story arrives at line and copy editing stages, I will refine grammar and accuracy to prepare it for final publication.
