• Editor reviews your work line by line, looking at the following:

  • How the story flows

  • Consistency of tenses, tone, style, and voice

  • Continuity

  • Adjusting/removing repetitive or unnecessary words

  • Improve unnatural dialogue

  • Adjust sentence structure and length

You get from us a marked up manuscript with edits and comments

• Third stage of editing.

• Editor reviews your work line by line, looking at the following:

  • Spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors

  • Checking for consistency in styles (numbers, names, etc.)

  • Ensure proper dialogue punctuation (ex. He said, “Whatever, man.” Or “Whatever, man,” he said.)

  • Ensure continuity

  • Check for missing words and spaces

• Editor provides to you: a marked up manuscript with edits and comments – ideally, we should be down to a lot less markup at this point because of the previous steps in this process.

• For an effective proofread, you need to typeset your manuscript on a page to see how it will look in publication.

• We use state-of-the-art typesetting software to get your manuscript ready for final production.

• Fourth stage in the publication process (and the final one).

• Editor reviews your typeset work, looking at the following:

  • One final check of grammar, spelling, and punctuation

  • Widows and orphans

  • Correct spacing and formatting

• Editor provides to you (if corrections are necessary) marked up copy (at this point, comments should not be necessary). If we are partnering to publish, then we get your text to the next stage of publication.
